Weekly Fellowship Gatherings....

Inspired by Levio and Allison's visit to the Sacred Tome, One of our wonderfull fellowship members Ty Seranade popped in ma im and wondered if it would be a good idea for our Fellowship to have some kind o weekly get together.... fantastic idea Ty so here goes

Starting from this Wednesday 26th when the clock chimes 4pm sl time,lets all gather together for an hour of relaxed chat, discussing anything and everything meeroo related !
If this times not suitable for the majority of members we will rejiggle it, just send me an im and let me know what time/day suits ewe best


Now i know im biast but our fellowship really does feel like sl family,and just like real life families we all have busy lifes so timewise its virtual-lee imposible to spend time with each and every one of us.. after all we are a large family of 40 so a weekly gathering will be an ideal opportunity to get to know each other a bitty better and to quote Ty... 'bring our family together as one'

Hello and welcome to the first Isle of Ewe Meeroos Fellowship Newsletter!

First off I would like to welcome all of our new fellowship members! We had some inactive members that left the meeroo game and now we have some new blood here!

Thank you for finding us and I truly hope you enjoy our group here! You can interact as much as you like and we will always be here to assist with anything you like. I really am glad that some of you are already interacting and trading and helping each other out!

We have had a few members donate to our breeding program and have some beautiful roos for your breeding pleasures (that sounded bad I know LOL). Firstly, you are not obligated to donate or use the meeroos breeding program we have set up in the middle of the IOEM Sim. It is simply there if you want to use it. ~~~~~~~***New Fun and Meeroo Adventure***~~~~~~~

Thanks to Raine Lowtide for introducing me to the Muffins of Doom's latest creation, the Dayroo Tree! It is a great looking fall foliage wee tree that not only interacts with the meeroos but also has its own magic! Interactive butterflies will be born first as wee eggs that your meeroos will gently place on a leaf under the Dayroo Tree. It will hatch within 12 hours as a caterpillar and then eventually form its own cocoon and you will be able to click it to birth a Butterfly (called Cayroos) of your own!

Right now they have special Halloween Cayroos for sale along side of the tree. The Cayroos will protect your meeroos from the horrible Morgal Bug. They have stats and can be transfered to whomever you wish! Some can be rare as well!

I will be posting a few photos of the Dayroo Tree and the Cayroos. If you would like to see them for yourself, Kerrie has hers out in our middle circle. Here is the SLURL. While you are there you can also check on the Fellowship Meeroos in the breeding program. They are on the circle with our blue Fellowship Logo under the food :).

Video - Isle of Ewe Meeroos Tour and Second Life Fun!

This is a video of our wee place at the Isle of Ewe Meeroos in Second Life. We breed and sell Meeroos here and if you have no idea what a Meeroo is, have a look in this video and watch a few of them interact.

There are Koi and Emperor Masked Japanese Meeroos. We also have Cinders, Ambers, Caledonian in this video.

I have recreated the pyramid that is located at the Roo sim that is not for sale. I couldn't wait for them to put it up for sale so I built it myself :). There is a majority of the sim that is under construction and will be done soon for the October season. Can't wait for Nahi's Haunted area to be finished.

A Light in the Dark - Meeroos Inspire and Heal

With all of the negativity that has besieged the Meeroo community and Catherine having to defend herself, her product, and everything else good about the roos, I wanted to share a story of a friend's recent journey. Along the way, she found some Meeroos and they melted her heart.

For the Love of a Meeroo

November 2010 changed my life in many ways. I was diagnosed with a tumor and the subsequent journey left me somewhere at the edge of evaluating what was important in life.

Mind you, I have been living my awesome life just as I wanted, but that specific journey, and everything that came with it, left a serious side affect … emotions, open emotions, emotional responses to things. You would have to know me in order to understand this statement and how it was a life changing realization – trust me, it was not welcome in any way shape or form.

I struggled with this new found ‘open’ part of my own humanity, but as I am known for just being the type of chicka that tackles issues when they present themselves, so I tackled the new found ‘open emotional’ aspect and assigned its properness within my world. These days I can be found daily sitting in my backyard at dusk, marveling at the sounds, smells and quietness, swallowing hard every single time; I make a point to snuggle and goof about with my Tuxedo Duo every day, truly realizing there is just nothing better than the warm neck of a furbaby, or the wet kisses greeting me in the morning or just about anytime; I give random hugs to my handicapped adult son throughout the day no matter his protests, and I now try not to hide my tears when I cry at those funky moments in a movie. Recently my son turned to me with a puzzled look and asked if I had tears? I nodded and smiled, and he said he did too. We resumed our movie watching as if it was nothing. I have turned into a mush bucket at age 46, but for once, I am ok with it, and I can admit it, openly. I have come a very long way ~chuckles~

So of course, it was only a matter of time before this somehow seeped into other parts of my life. I am more prone to have romantic moments with Chris/tine (Aryon in Second Life) now (that in of itself is hilarious, but that’s another story), or rather, not scoff at them as much … and just in time it seems, a savvy Second Life Resident decided to bring to the grid an ancient story in the form of Meeroos – a mystical creature with a background story (great marketing strategy by the way), that is about as interactive and adorable (life like) as the platform allows it to be.

Pet or Animal craziness has been part of Second Life since I joined in 2005, never getting to me, or somehow moving me to get involved. I own a small interactive Zooby pet (a Boston Terrier) in Second Life; it roams and plays, interacts, it’s cute when you zoom in enough, but still, going ‘gaga’ over it was not in my personality, nor was the pet THAT cute to fall all over it. It sits next to Aryon’s big dog on our land in Second Life, right next to Aryon’s habitat for Bunnies. Now they are cute in a sort of distant approach, the Bunnies, but I hate that they hover, and I, true to form, did not get into ‘them’. I stop by the habitat once a day when I am in Second Life, checking to make sure none have escaped, but it is pretty much Aryon’s thing.

My life, as it were, returned back to its normal rhythm at around the time Relay for Life of Second Life hit the weekend July 16, 2011. I was able to sign in to walk the Caregiver/Survivor lap with Aryon, which showed me from a technical aspect that my now 8meg internet connection in the boonies of Europe (down from 100meg in the city) can handle Second Life. I had recovered medically and psychologically, and started spending more time in Second Life again. Not every day, but almost. Since Aryon and I have a permanent long distance relationship no matter the times we can get together in person, Second Life is our bridge, our home together; it is where we met years ago, it is where we live ‘together’, it is where we get involved together in causes that matter to us – it is where we have friends together from all over the globe and socialize together. So yes, Second Life is a big part of my life and I am glad I can enjoy it again.

I had heard about the Meeroo craze hitting the grid but ignored it, like I always do when I hear about another animal craze. I got back into having a sim – it’s all decorated and designed. I was looking for some additional plants, traveled the grid in search of them. I landed on a sim that looked mystical, but ok, thats nothing new, there are many in Second Life, but what struck me was the design of the plants – superb. I walked around forgetting to turn off my Second Life sound since I had worked on the sim with Ducks for the water. As I turned one corner in the mystical area, I heard some sounds. Like gooing. It was the cutest sound I had heard in Second Life EVER, leading me to find the source.

It got weaker as I walked in one direction, then louder as I turned back. I finally found it and was assaulted with the most adorable moving objects. The sign said they were Meeroos; they had different sizes, different colors, moved, stood, curled up, had facial expressions I think (I did not have to zoom in to see the regular size) and … gooed. OMG, they gooed. I mean really, seriously, they gooed. I never have my sounds on in Second Life unless I am working on the sim with forest animals, it was a fluke it was on as I traveled the grid, and if I had not heard THAT gooing, I would have thought them cute and walked right by them. But I did have the sound on and the combination of their cuteness and their sounds let me to the official Meeroo website where I read the background story, and? You guessed it, I was a goner.

Where do I stand presently on the issue? Thanks to some dear friends of ours in Second Life (Kerrie & Temoren) I own a Meeroo thingy that will give me a baby Meeroo. Like I wanted, its supposed to be from the Scottish Lands, red coated, standard size, female, with a long tail, I think.

And NOW, true to form again, I am afraid to rezz the little mount that would allow me to coax a baby Meeroo … and opening up an emotional journey that I am not sure I am ready for.

First Feature - Town Square Party and New Beginnings!!!

Each week we are going to try and focus on one particular aspect of our sim here at IOEM to bring you a bit of insight to what there is to see and explore here. We hope you enjoy!

First up - Nahi's newly built Isle of Ewe Town Square!

We had our first ever party in our newly built Town Square! Coming from the center star it is located in the South East corner of the Isle of Ewe Treasure Haven sim. There are places to explore, books to read, even a wee fishing hole where you can enter the Tournament and WIN LINDENS!! In fact, I am fishing as I blog!!

The first thing you witness before you cross the bridge to the olde town is the Free Horse Rezzer. Grab one for a gallup through this picturesque village. As you follow the dirt path on your left is a beautiful rock fountain and a huge Light House that lights up the distant rocks for all the sea faring ships that come to look upon our island.

Next as you meander past the ancient glowing Meeroo print you come upon the old Clock Tower Cemetary. Resting in peace there are the ancient founders to our wee village. Inside the Clock Tower itself is a cultured library with loads of books and above is a cozy reading table with a small fire pit to warm the toes and hands in the open windowed tower.

Just across the dirt street from the library is the Tavern. A small gathering place for friends to share the crack and some laughs. All drinks are FREE! David Tennant is kind enough to grace us with his never wavering Dr. Who presence behind the bar. There we will be having weekly gatherings with our very own Isle of Ewe Fellowship Founder Kerrie Miles as the fabulous DJ McMooRoo! Look for a possible upgrade to the tavern as we expand in size!

Following up the dirt path you will come to the center circle and water feature of our Town. It isn't a square per say, but a lovely center none the less. Set your view to sunset and enjoy a nice amber glow as you enjoy a seat at one of the bistro tables and read one of those books you may have gotten from the library.


Continuing on there are a couple of cute week cottages for rent (I think one is still available as of this blog) and a center meditation gazebo to relax with another fire pit and soak in the sea air!

Just below the Gazebo is our Tournament Fishing area that I am actually sitting in right now. Linden prizes are there to be won. Each tournament runs for I think a week and has prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and even Largest Fish! After a long afternoon of fishing, grab up one of the floaties there on the beach and have a float. They are fun and relaxing. You can even play bumper float with friends!!! Such a laugh!

Coming to the end of the road Nahi has her photo studio up and you can take a look at a few of her shots in her slideshow on the back wall.

At the end of the dirt path is a sweet little hut with the fruits of Nahi's Meeroos' labor. She has a few nests for sale there and since she is ALWAYS redecorating, I am sure we will see a few changes here and there in her little world she has created for us to explore and enjoy.
